Are we talking PCI cards? laptop wifi cards
what make, model, chipset? a bit more info please
As far as the Access Points go they just talk to the pcmcia cards or internet wifi cards or wireless usb sticks. I don't own one you'll have to mention the brands, makes, models.
So if you can make a list as to which ones, people might get a better picture.
After searching google I read one gentleman got this working on Ubuntu (it was on devianart) - apparently it just *Worked* for him.
have you tried clicking on properties of the wireless connection and
'enable roaming mode'
are you using gutsy? what protocal are you trying to talk to
WEP, WPA, WPA2 ?
1) Roaming mode is enabled
2) Yes, I'm using Gutsy
3) Unsecured, though I have also tried WEP
I purchased a cheap adapter from Maplins today and it's working fine from plugin.
But this isn't really my point; I meant working drivers should be developed for Irish ISP-given equipment in general. I've heard of many people avoiding Ubuntu because their wireless wouldn't work.
wireless wouldnt work on my old hp laptop but on my new one it worked out of the box, wireless support is getting better and better
