    need xubuntu cd

    I live in buffalo new york I dont have a cd burner
    So i was wondering if some cud mail me the cd or something
    I requested them them from ubuntu ship it they it will take
    6 weeks.

    Which release do you want (Breezy, Dapper, Edgy, Feisty)? I'll mail one out to you tomorrow.

    Yeah, there's this company called ondisk.com and that's what they do. they ship cd's of linux distro's to people.

    I was taken with Xubuntu's look/feel, too, and from reading the Absolute Beginner forum I learned that one can go into synaptic, search-->All by "name" using "xubuntu" as the search term.

    Mark for installation the appropriate packages, and then on log-in, you choose the "Xfce" session. This can also be made the default session, so you'll always get Xubuntu/Xfce log in.

    Of course, it's also good to have an installation CD.
