Signatures!

Picture Signatures can be excessive when left unmoderated, but no picture sigs at all doesn't even let you have that last and most undignified attempt at individualism or simple seflness.

Bandwidth has nothing to do with it when they can be hosted elsewhere and margin restrictions are a given, knowing this forum is Vbb, you can even restrict the use of signatures to one per thread per user.

I'm sure there are people that think they are annoying, but I can almost guarntee we both agree they can be when they are offensive/to large/to contrasting or just stupid - so when simple rules are in place, all that is covered and I've never seen staff as swift and friendly as the Ubuntu forum staff so that wont be an issue.

Not having the option is irritating, I'd really like to be able to use a signature and I'm sure alot of others would like to (well, we witness the guys making sigs every day in the art forum and then realizing after all their hard work they cant even use them.

So what say you guys?
Mods, if you could make this a poll, if your allowed to, that would be great.

Why can't I use images in my signature? (Why are the staff allowed to use them?) Banners, flashing images, colorful and hidden links...the list is a long one. This is primarily a tech support forum with a small number of frivolous additions. This was something that people either love or hate, and people looking for tech support answers with as little distraction as possible are among those who hate this feature so we turned it off. The staff of the forums are allowed this as a perk since they are volunteers and receive no payment or other renumeration for their time, efforts and services here.

Mods, if you could make this a poll, if your allowed to, that would be great.

What would you like to see in the poll options? Sketch them out, I can put it together.

Option 1 : Signatures are ok as long as they are moderated/constrained
Option 3 : Yes, but only one per post, with option 1.
Option 2 : Signatures annoy me, no.

(edit) no, you are right, I never clearly defined what I mean by signatures, its edited in now though .

Also, I don't think the poll will get much attention here, possibly somewhere else?

KiwiNZ I don't mean to sound rude buddy but telling me something like this has been discussed in the past with a forum regularly encompassing more then 5000 active viewers at any one time is stating the betting obvious.

However, that didn't really help

(The internet has a horrible way of assimilating somewhat negative feedback in to horrible tones of what you'd "think" they sounded like when they said/typed something).

As I said, don't take my last post the wrong way, I was actually laughing when i read your original post, I don't know why =/
