Got my family's PC set up with Gutsy. Even my technophobic mum uses it and prefers using it to the slow, dull old Windows install

Does anyone know how to alter the shadows on the desktop launcher labels to make them readable on the light background?

I don't know if it works with Flux but it doesn't need a composite window manager:
    SimDock
    pekWM | archlinux | Dell E5400
    CounterStream Radio

    That's great.

    - The dock functionality that tops every task manager
    - The reflections that everybody loves
    - But not the compoziting requirement that makes things so hard
    - And no bouncing icons!

only issues is that it is kind of limited in some stuff and it could really use tooltips...
Edit: ouch it is not visible for all workspaces , I guess we have to wait till it gets better, plenty of potential actually.

ThanX a lot it worked like charm
except two probs ; that is when i pressed the icon again its not minimizing
AND it would be great if if it shows the application name when i moved the cursor on to the icon (tooltips)

    @vexorian
I fixed the problem with the work spaces by using devilspie
just add a file by the name simdock.ds in ~/.devilspie (create if not there)

the content of the file should be as follows

(if (is (application_name) "simdock") (begin skip_tasklist skip_pager pin below))

    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    add
    devilspie -a
    entry to startup

    I Have Attached The Screenshot
