ubuntuforums gain 400 members a day

i dont have empirical evidence of this, but ive done the math over a few days, and ubuntuforums is growing big time. 450 people a day (average) is no joke.

Cool. Does anyone have info on the current amount of linux (home) users? I did some googling... it seems that the total amount could sum up to 0,7 million instances(tuxmachines.org).

EDIT: how about Canonical? Do they have any statistcs?

I'd be interested in this sort of information, as well. Or anything similar.

i was just curious on the rate. I stop it after.
it just reads the 1st page, by the way

PS. I rm the mini-script from my post, to avoid copy past of random users feeling temptation of repeat it. Better remove it from your quote too.

Most people just register and either forget about it or stop posting when their one question is answered

That's true, but then there are a whole bunch of people who never register because their question is answered by existing posts and then a whole load more people who never even see the forums.

I wonder what the relationship between installbase and forum use is.
