    first of all, really nice scripts

    had a few problems getting it going though, first you might want to specify that mpc is required for the mpd clients

    secondly mpc was bitching about the port, also spaces weren't being converted to underscores

    /usr/local/bin/avatar-launcher
    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    #############Global Options
    music=mpd
    comic=comix
    video=mplayer
    x1=
    x2=
    x3=
    music_widget=yes
    mpd_music_directory=/var/lib/mpd/music
    mpd_port=6600
    mpd_host=127.0.0.1

    .....stuff......

    mpd_support ()
    {
    export MPD_PORT=$mpd_port
    export MPD_HOST=$mpd_host
    mpc clear
    mpc ls $(echo "$1" | sed "s|$mpd_music_directory/||" | sed "s| |_|g") | mpc add
    mpc play
    }
    edit:// actually it'll probably also bitch about a non-default MPD_HOST as well, might want to add that also

    Your scripts are really nice! Fancy eyecandy in bash! One never knows...

    Just an advice for the picture grabber. If one tags his photos with gThumb, each photo folder contains a subdirectory named .comments; you may want to ignore these, as they contain no pictures and get a blank preview. More generally avatar-factory should ignore directories without images.

    Keep on with your really good work.

    Well, I was refering to the picture grabber, not the album one. A picture grabber should not consider directories without pictures in it.

    This is especially great for OSX themes, but I find it to look good with any of the themes I have. Thanks a bunch.

    Thanks to all for your comments.

    aidanr:
    I have included your code for the mpd function and now the mpc requirement is specified in the instrucions. Thanks.
    I didn't know that spaces needed to be converted to underscores...

    Bassotto:
    The picture grabber shouldn't process directories without images. This is the command:
    Code:
    ls -t1 | egrep -i '\.jpg|\.png' | head -n 3
    The problem is that any file that contains ".jpg" or ".png" on it name will be processed as a picture.
    I will see if I can make it to ignore hidden folders.

    isaacj87:
    I am trying to get Banshee to work but I am having some problems...

    If there is an expert reading this that can help me out the problem is this:
    From a directory with mp3 files the following command gives me what I need:
    Code:
    find "$PWD" -maxdepth 1 -type f -iname '*.mp3' | sort | sed -e 's/^/"/' -e 's/$/"/' | tr '\n' ' '
    If I paste the result in front of the following command it works:
    Code:
    banshee --play --enqueue
    But if I put all together it doesn't work:
    Code:
    banshee --play --enqueue $(find "$PWD" -maxdepth 1 -type f -iname '*.mp3' | sort | sed -e 's/^/"/' -e 's/$/"/' | tr '\n' ' ')

    The --name parameter doesn't seem to work for me.
