Ok I did what you said, but still am unsure what to do next.. Here's a screen. I ran that command and it brought up a text editor, then I typed widget_name=. and pushed 'save'. Now this is whats in my avatar factory folder. I tried dragging the avatar-launcher into the screenlets manager, but it wouldn't accept it. How do I use the widget? I'm not even sure I have the widget.. Maybe this is too advanced for me, I just dont get it at all.

Oh... I didn't know that it wasn't showing at all. The widget works with nautilus as your desktop. Because of that it doesn't consume any resource.
You don't need screenlet for this.
You should have a file in your desktop folder called 'music_widget.desktop'
Thats the widget. From your desktop (nautilus) you can resize it and drag music avatars to it to enqueue albums.

I dont have that music_widget.desktop file.. I even searched my entire system with catfish looking for it thinking maybe it was placed somewhere else. I installed the Avatar Factory deb. Should I have got a different package? Seems I dont have half the stuff that your screenshots have.. No widgets.

Edit: When I open Avatar Factory gui I'm presented with several options. What grabber should I choose to get that music effect I've been talking about? I tried the music one, but it just gives one single icon with album art. Like in my first screenshot. Nothing like your awesome music screenshot.

I think I'm just done with this.. I've been messing with it for a long time now with no success. The pictures, avatar, film, dont work. I dont have the music widget.. I just dont understand why nothing works for me. I've wasted an entire day.

mmm... thats strange. Sorry that you have wasted an entire day.

In case that you want to try one more time I will give you step by step instructions from the beginning:

    Making the Avatars
    From the command line:
    Code:
    avatar-factory -g music --type 1 ~/your-music-folder -/destination
The --type 1 option isn't necessary because is the default option for the music grabber.
You must replace "~/your-music-folder" with the path to the folder where your music is and "-/destination" with the folder where you want to save the avatars.
Make sure that there is no avatar inside the destination folder.
Avatars should be created for any folder that contains music files and at least one picture that will be used as the cover.

    The rest of the story
    Code:
    rm ~/.avatar-factory/avatar-launcher
That will force the default options. I assume that you have totem installed. (default in hardy)

    Testing it
Now make click on one of the avatars that were created.
This is what it should happen:
1- Totem should open and start playing the selected album.
2- A file named 'music_widget.desktop' should be created in your desktop folder.

    Does it work now?
I know that it is a little unintuitive at first but once that you understand how it works it is very easy.

    Edit:
I tried but it isn't working. It seems a banshee problem, "banshee-1 --help-all" gives some options but neither work.
    For example:
    banshee-1 --play-enqueued track.mp3
    banshee-1 --play track.mp3
    Neither work...
Thanks for trying. I guess I'll have to wait for a new Banshee version.

Yuzem > How did you put a backgound for thunar ?

    I didn't. I think you saw nautilus.

Yes: nautilus > edit > backgrounds and emblems > drag and drop with the middle button.

You mean with the music grabber?
The problem is that not all folders with music are albums.
