You won't be able to receive major updates (or anyone at all).

There is a User Agent Switcher for Firefox that allows you to choose the information you wish to send to a site. Just tell the obsolete Mexican site that you are running IE 6 on Win32 and Firefox on Ubuntu will work just fine.

Now validating Ubuntu as "Genuine Windows" well .

Here comes the ubiquitous AYB reference...

Well....i guess we can say that "All your code are belong to microsoft"

Somehow I'm not suprised....I've been screwing around with it lately and I see that if it finds the files actually required for it to run (interface elements, networking, etc...), but it cannot determine some of the other files (*cough* WINE *cough*) it will call it valid, just to save the "customer" some hassle...

There goes M$ assuming that we're all n00bs....

The thing is, that idea still doesn't explain why a lot of legit Windows users fail WGA.

That's exactly what I did and that's why I didn't think it worked to start with. Turns out that you have to set security settings to low for internet zone.

No doubt millions of Windows users are getting that message on login right now...

There should be another dialog saying: This OS is no longer secure, you have to upgrade now:
Button 1: Get Linux (default, recommended); Button 2: Get Windows Vista (disabled).

An even simpler "no brainer" way to download Windows Defender on Ubuntu ...

1/ Install Automatix from their website
2/ Install the demo version of crossover office.
    3/ install IE
4/ go to the Microsoft Defender home page and get it.

Fun stuff ... but not that useful!

I don't know if someone have tested it with Firefox on Ubuntu Feisty but it also works.
