    Web IDE Recommendations?

I've been needing something for Ubuntu other than Bluefish. It's alright, but if there's something better I'd like to try it out. I was curious about what you guys recommend.

I need something that supports PHP, (X)HTML, CSS, and javascript at the very least. I'd also like something that has a nice document tree similar to Bluefish and Dreamweaver. It'd be great if I could even define "site" folders like you can in DW. I don't know if I need to say this, but good syntax highlighting is also a must.

    Thoughts?

I really like Bluefish. With a bit of work, it would surely become my favorite IDE. On Linux there are a lot. Screen is one, but I have had it crash quite a bit. Quanta is pretty good as well. I usually use a combination along with GNOME-Edit.

There is also Eclipse, but has a steeper learning curve since it was pretty much designed for Java development.

I use a combination of Bluefish and Aptana. If you like Dreamweaver, you should like Aptana. The only bad thing about it would be that it only supports HTML CSS and JavaScript. That is why I use both though. It has instructions on how to load it onto Ubuntu.

    -edit-
Just found out there is an add on for PHP in Aptana

FWIW, I've gone through all of the options mentioned here, and I'm personally happiest with good syntax highlighting, comment/uncomment, and plugins that aren't super-bloated. Eclipse (Aptana, too) seemed nice for a while, and I find myself in it every now and then. All that said, I keep ending up using Gedit with Nautilus and Gnome-Terminal

I've used this approach for everything including flat HTML sites, Wordpress, MediaWiki, and even Zope3. Personal preference is funny like that

Same here. Since I edit directly on the server, usually I use Vim or a combination of Gedit + G-VFS to edit the files over SSH.
