See above. That's all you get with the 'desktop effects'.
Well, I will see if the included one is enough for me. If not, will have to install Beryl

Thanks. Is compiz required for Beryl to function?

The swedish mirror site was posted (along with other many ubuntu news) today on a big swedish tech site (idg.se) Ubuntu is suddenly getting huge attention from idg for some reason. They have been very windows focused but recently it has completely changed and they are all over ubuntu and open source. Windows related news are mostly negative nowadays (exploits, bugs etc. etc.).

I noticed that, I thought the website would update at midnight Eastern time. As of now (9am) it still hasn't, and no news as to why not.

OK, my printing test will have to wait a bit until I get access to them...

The live CD gives you read-only access to the hard drive (from "Computer"). The permissions are 444... And, I rebooted WinXP from the hard disk and it worked; so it is harmless.

Discharged my laptop's battery a bit; immediately recognized by Feisty. Pluged again; also recognized.

OpenOffice 2.2 managed to open my personal files on HDD.

    Hmm... Ah, sound works too!

I don't like the Desktop Effects, sincerely. They work, but I just don't like them.

And the amazing part is that I haven't installed anything yet!

LOL! When I went to bed last night, 8 hours ago, this thread had 594 posts. Now it's up the the mid 2000s. That's insane.

if u think about it, it really makes sense not to update the home page right away. this will let the those like me download the file, and help to seed it so that the base will be larger once the home page has been updated. that way more ppl can have a decent speed.

    just my thoughts
