I use VirtualBox 2.1.2 OSE for desktop Ubuntu guests on Arch Linux as host. I currently use the standard/generic linux kernel packages and the system seems fine. I read the package description of linux-image-2.6.27-9-virtual and it mentions that it is "geared toward virtual machine guests". Does it imply all guests or just server style guests since the header files are the same as the server version? What would be the advantages of using linux-virtual instead of the generic kernel for a virtual guest?
