    Re: Ubuntu Muslim Edition

This is my first post to ubuntu forums. I was always a fan of ubuntu since I heard about it a year ago. Now I wanted to get involved more in the ubuntu community after I have seen the good work done to put together ubuntume.

I'm a software engineer and hoping to get the chance to contribute some of my development skills to ubuntu and generally the linux community.

I know I will enjoy it. I can't wait to get way too much ubuntu!

    Hi,

Thanks to talk about ubuntu Muslim Edition (I'm the admin of the project)
We are working a lot on .deb packages for the hardy release and ubuntuME 8.04 will be far better than before!

I've sent a request but got no answer. Does someone know who I should contact for that?

I find the unveiling of Ubuntu ME to be explosive news. It's really the bomb.

Indeed. All it will take will be a buddhist or jew to do the work to put it together. I'm sure they would be allowed to create a distro, just as Jereme did. If anyone has a problem with that, they should just get over it.

It was kinda joke here. I don't like the mix between religion and free software. That's all. Don't kick me for that, but I think computer have to be religion "free" (as in free speech).

Interesting little falacy of logic there, FredB. Everybody gets to have "free" speech except people of faith?
At any rate, these distros are less about free speech and more about software collections with purpose. A graphics designer would prefer one set of programs, a gamer another. This distro is about gathering together apps and info to aid an active Christian in a walk of faith, which is the use I'm trying to put it to. I hope you'll get the same benefits from it.

    Re: Ubuntu Muslim Edition

Falacy ? Look at human history and you'll see faith mixed with crusades, massacres, and so on.

I just think that computing has nothing to do with faith, which is a lot of time source for hate, murders, crimes in the name of religions.

    Confessional distro why not ?

But communitarist distro, what's the point of it ?

Do we need a "jesus camp" ubuntu edition for those mad evangelist ?

    Just guessing.
