HOWTO: CJK in Wine (Chinese, Japanese & Korean)

Hi. Can you explain how do i get the Russian locale and how to use it with Wine?

So i did "touch ru" (probably) but then what to do i put in it using gedit?

Where and how to DL fonts etc?

Please help. I am trying to run Russian version of game Lineage 2 but it cannot run as it gives error "cannot run in this locale" while running it trough wine.

I wanted to do this years ago but I finally did it:

repackaged VeraSansYuanTi and made it available for all at one of my servers:

wget http://www.chaoslayer.org/download/VeraSansYuanTi.tar.gz

Should be really fast (at least within Europe).

Please, update your instructions - there is a slight error in step 3. Command "./install" has to be prepended with sharp sign, not with dollar. That is, it has to be executed with superuser rights.

please be warned that this tutorial completely destroys and previous install of wine; especially if you've set up wine very specifically to work with apps like photoshop cs4

thanks for the post. winelocale seems to be a good program though i have not tried it yet. i use scim with wine and in order to input traditional chinese the way i start my wine program is:
env LC_ALL=zh_CN.UTF-8 wine "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE"

Hi, on Ubuntu 10.04 I could stop after dgkg-reconfigure locale. It seems like things are moving in the right direction.
