As far as personal wikis go I like using TiddlyWiki. Not in the repositories but that's because it's only an html file. This makes it very portable, since everything is contained in one file and it can be edited by any browser. I find it useful to open it along with my homepage every time I open my browser with anything I need to be reminded of.

I also like using the Tea text editor.

Wow, 35% Windows users? Interesting. I wonder if a look at these forums helps them make the switch. Or are they all Ubuntu users who are taking a break from work? Hmmm...
May the FOSS be with you!

Or users whose system broke and booted into Windows looking for a fix!

Or ubuntu users who log in at work to peruse the forums on windows machines because their IT department is run by Windows educated paper hangers who don't know anything but what they were taught by Microsoft. (raises hand in disgust)

Re: Cool applications you use that others might not know of

My contribution to this thread is posting ALL and I mean ALL of the apps mentioned here in one post. Since I had to go through the 40 pages by hand, I only put the program name in the list. No screenshot, no description, no download link. My suggestion would be for people to expand on this list by copying and pasting it into their posts. Then, if you have a new submission, put it in the appropriate location on the list and Bold it so people can tell what you added. You can also add descriptions and links to apps already on the list.

silent1643, what happened to the old site? It was very nice and handy. I liked how you grouped the applications. The overview is now a bit messy and harder to use.
