    Oh

    My

    God.

Thank you so much for this. The servers have been down, but as soon as they are up I'm playing this for hours and hours.

    Thank you so much.

Did they ever get wine running well? The servers were never up after my first try (I believe I was the first person to post it "running"), but it did "work". Maybe its working better now. Maybe I should actually read that thread I made a month or two ago....Thanks for the heads up.

    This looks awesome!

I just downloaded it but the servers are down. Cant wait to have a go.

This seems as good a time as any to ask about making launchers for things like this. I made a launcher with the following:

    wine "/home/james/pol_6.2/Pokemon Online.exe"

This launches the program but an error comes up saying "Cannot create subdirectory in temporary directory!"

If I launch from the console using sudo it works ok but that isn't very secure.

Can anyone suggest how I alter the permissions to allow this subdirectory?

Sorry to hijack the game thread with a technical question.

yea, i also saw this on digg a week or two ago, and of course downloaded it immediately. i only was able to battle other people about 1 out of 4 times, and the server connection was pretty unstable. but i agree with you in that it has amazing potential, now if only theyd hurry up

I downloaded it and tried it, but a hacker was messing with the game and made it impossible to play. Might try it again another time. The only thing that worries me is if it gets to big, what is Nintendo going to do? Hope the project grows, it would be a shame if it dies again.

Nintendo considers it fanart as long as they don't charge money; Shadows of Lylat is in a similar position. They've actually e-mailed Nintendo and gotten their blessing.
