    Re: Desktop Hardware Incompatibility List.

Ubuntu 19.4 fails to boot on machines equipped with AMD Ryzen series 3000 CPU and motherboards based upon AMD x570 PCH due to incompatibility with systemd release > 237. This is probably a temporary situation.

Interim solution: use Ubuntu 18.04 (LTS).
    regards

Just echoing this. I just got an X570 board & ryzen 3600 and 18.04 has no issues at all, but 19.04 install media fails to boot with 100s of systemd errors. Interestingly, 19.04 also fails to boot inside a Virtual Machine under Windows 10 (both Virtual Box & VMWare) with the exact same issue, basically showing this is cpu/chipset related.

Hopefully this won't be too hard to fix...

EDIT: this is the core issue. https://linuxreviews.org/AMD_Ryzen_3..._distributions

It appears to be an issue with 3000 AMD Ryzen series in general. I have 3900x on a B450 and it will not install. I reinstall a Ryzen 1400 or 2600 and it will work.

Interestingly RHEL 7.x and 8.x will install..

AMD RX470 graphics card DVI outputs no usable audio.

My RX470 graphics card HDMI connector failed while repairing someones monitor and had to start using the DVI output connector with a DVI to HDMI adaptor. My monitor (Dell S2340) produces no usable audio on jack output. Tested both Ubuntu and Kubuntu. Tested and works normally on Windows 10.

    I bought this device:
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000950516104.html?ug_edm_item_id=4000950516104&tr acelog=rowan&rowan_id1=user_add_wishlist_remind_1_ 1_en_US_2020-10-20&rowan_msg_id=0086biz_add_wishlist:2001:e078af12 8ceb4c848e6f58b7c738bf81_548424$56051e5203d0437b99 e29c1cf9835453&ck=in_edm_other
It is not clearly said that it uses a fan.
But as W10 users regret that there is no way to switch it off when booting Ubuntu it is off and there is no simple way to switch it on
I made an hardware mod to quickly solve this problem but this is not for every body.
On the other hand this device has many advantages :
    It is cheaper
It uses a micro sd card with nothing "out of the box"
It has an additional USB type C port .
The box is bigger than my passive cooled BT3 pro.
So if you are prepared to do hardware mods on the cooling system
    it is a good choice.
Also Bios menu is very poor on this device but it allowed Ubuntu without problems.
Happy user of Ubuntu-20.04 on a Beelink BT3pro mini PC

TASCAM does not currently provide a Linux driver for it (it's also a discontinued product, but it works great under Windows).
