[UPDATED]
This appears to be an issue with the r8180 driver. Using ndiswrapper and the W98 drivers for the RTL8180 chipset from RealTek, this seems to work fine.

I'm installing Xubuntu this time around. When the card associates with the wireless network, the computer hangs. I notice the scroll lock indicator and the caps lock indicator begin flashing when this happens. I have to restart the computer.
This card worked fine under Feisty.

Acer Aspire 5050-4872
Ubuntu hates this machine...
Madwifi drivers do not work in this machine... but you can enable wireless with ndiswrapper, installing acer_acpi first.
Battery just is not recognized... and there is no way to make it be recognized.

Hi,
USB Camera on desktop
intel pc camera pro
Was working fine in Feisty - upgraded to GG Ubuntu 7.1 and Ekiga now reports:
"Your driver doesn't seem to support any of the color formats supported by Ekiga.
Please check your kernel driver documentation in order to determine which Palette is supported"
Best wishes,
David
This post could be related to an Ubuntu bug filed at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...20/+bug/154773

Its a PCG-954A
Pentium 3 processor. 695.6 MHz
254 megs of ram
chipset: intel i815
7.10 installed using acpi=off in the safe grafics installation.
The live session loaded, but not withthe correct screen size.
It made a little "box" in the center of the display that was the "screen" while the rest of it was black.
it still displayed, though it did not resize the install windows, and hid the buttons on the bottom of the install menus so that I had to use keyboard navigation blindly in order to install it.
Upon reboot, the display was black, exactly like the 7.04 problem.
Using the grub menu to boot in safe settings, I could see the initial loading text, and then:
black! in flickered once or twice before this and then Black.
There is a bug reported on this matter.
