    Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64-bit
    Linux 4.4.0-25-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 12 22:03:46 UTC 2016

    I5-6400, Gigabyte GA-Z170M-D3H, 16 GB DDR4 3000 Corsair-Vengeance, SSD Samsung EVO 750 250GB, HDD WD 1TB, Wireless PCI TP-LINK TL-WDN4800, Case Cooler Master N200

Everything works, including the wireless card. Even after suspending.

Wireless card installation is as simple as powering off the computer, installing the card in the PCI E4X slot, and powering the computer on.

Last week, I picked up an Inspiron 3655 (AMD processor & graphics) from Dell on sale for ~ $300, free shipping. It came with Windows 10, but that's now gone! I still have it set with secure-boot, running Ubuntu MATE 15.10; Its great! Very fast. Its superior to an older Dell 660 with corei5 running Windows 10, which I also have; I paid about $500 for that one two years ago, roughly.

The 3655 has 8 GB of memory and a 1 TB drive, DVD and all important connectors, free mouse, keyboard. Its a very good deal - I suggest it for anyone looking for a cheap Ubuntu desktop, perfect for the kid's dorm.

    1) Xubuntu 16:04 64
    2) MINIPC 2.90 1.45 GHZ Atom x5-Z8300 Quad Core, Cherry Trail CR,
    3) Sumvision
    4) Cyclone Mini Micro Small Multi Media Desktop PC 2

Note, there seem to be several variants of these tiny PCs, using similar or the same motherboard. They are supplied with Win10 installed on the internal 32GB eMMC card. They have sufficient cooling, using static heatsinks, for Windows 10, which I assume uses some sort of CPU throttling to control temperature. They are INSUFFICIENTLY cooled for Ubuntu, in my experience, and overheating causes them to lock up. Maybe there is some CPU heat throttling option in Linux, but I'm not aware of it.

If like me, you really want this to work under Linux, have a great deal of time (I did one week), and don't mind adding a fan, you can end up with a very nice, tiny, cool running, power efficient quadcore desktop computer, running Linux, but before you do, do read my rather lengthy experience of this computer at:
    http://digitalanswers.info/2016/07/02/the-desktop/

It now plays videos, will carry out some heavy word processing tasks, and run BOINC at the same time, often the proverbial straw that breaks the camels back, on computers that are prone to overheating and has run continuously, for several days so far, in hot weather.

The chipset is not well supported in Linux. I've had to add an external USB sound dongle: neither blue-tooth nor WiFi work so far either, but it does have USB3.

As more and more Chinese manufacturers are supplying these cheap desktop mini-PCs, I feel that exploring the deployment of Linux on them, is worth pursuing.

Hardware is confirmed working out of the box. For best performance, installation of the newest Nvidia drivers is recommended but not required.

    Hi there

Happy to report that the Acer Aspire R11 R3-131T full name R3-131T-C1VC model no N15W15

is working just right with 16.10. No proprietary software needed, touchscreeen perfect, shortcut keys and rocker keys for volume works great.
Keyboard is disconnected when in presentation/tablet/tent mode, that's cool.

Bluetooth OK with phone, with JBL loudspeaker but not with cheap mouse.
WiFi OK first try, both 2.4 and 5Ghz

Shortcut keys to brightness unbearably slow, sluggish, to the point you better keep a shortcut to the setting in your sidebar.

Tent Mode doesn't rotate the screen. Some other, less used shortcut keys untested as of now, will update.

For my use, and this install, I just wiped the drive, put the bios boot in Legacy, and installed from USB in one go. Works for me.
