    That is with the P4 at 3GHz and the RAM at 2.5GB.

    I have installed on like 15 of these and I have encountered no problems ever.

    For some reason I was unable to install with a CD using the drives I found it with or with USB or with an external USB CD drive. I ended up having to plug in a more modern CD/DVD drive and it worked fine. The fact that the MOBO can only take 512 RAM is a real setback. If it wasn't for that it would be a lot better.

    Just upgraded my mobo and uP.

    Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit
    ASRock P67 Extreme6
    i5 2500K uP
    Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600MHz RAM
    4 disk RAID10 using sata3 ports
    Nvidia 6600GT graphics card

    Ubuntu was originally installed on the RAID array using my old Gigabyte/AMD mobo. After upgrading the mobo I reconnected the disks and it booted seamlessly.

    Re: Desktop Hardware Compatibility List.

    Hi, just want to share my sys info

    motherboard: Gygabite EP45-UD3LR
    everything works without any problems with every linux that I've used !
    suspend and hibernate (and recovery from..) is very good, no problems occured. used it with ubuntu since ubuntu 8.04 now with 11.04 (everything between ) ; and tested with various linux live cd, all worked.

    CPU: INTEL CORE2DUO E8400 (3GHZ) -what to say, one of the best at that time (that is to say 2 years ago )

    ram: 4GO DDR2

    other:
    webcam: logitec UVC webcam 10€ The cheapest ! works with everything (with flash too! for videoconference with service like tokbox or koowy.
    Video quality is equal to as that we can have with windows. One rule to follow with webcam is to buy UVC standart ( universal video class ).

    apm multicard reader : of course works out/ob

    That's all folks ! bye

    This is my configuration that's been working properly for over a year now...

    Version: Ubuntu 10.04 (with latest updates)
    Motherboard: MSI P6N SLI V2
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @ 2.66 GHz
    Memory: 2 x 2 GB Kingston (in Dual-channel mode)
    Hard Disk: SATA II (Total=1.5 TB)
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA 9600 GT
    Sound card: Integrated MSI Sound Card

    Everything works, including the front audio/microphone ports (which do not work in Windows even with the Realtek Audio Drivers).

    Re: Desktop Hardware Compatibility List.

    I was looking for a suitable printer, either HP or Epson, and people on the Ubuntu forums advised to go with HP, as the drivers are open source and do work.

    1)Version Of Ubuntu - 11.04
    2)Type Of Hardware - Printer
    3)Hardware Maker - Hewlett-Packard (HP)
    4)Hardware Model - HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One Printer - C310a (CN503A)

    Grabbed hplip-gui from the archives, which is from HP Linux Imaging and Printing , and it all pretty much installed itself, very easy.

    It works 100% , fantastic.

    Thanks,

    Oygle

    Desktop - HP G5370UK i3550
    Runs Ubuntu 11.04 64 bit flawlessly.

    The only tweak is to blacklist rt2800pci & rt2800lib in etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf, to make wireless work correctly.

    Re: Desktop Hardware Compatibility List.

    Wanted to share my hardware profile for my Ubuntu system.

    Version = Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
    Mainboard = Epox KRAI-pro mb (via kt880 chipset)
    CPU = Athlon xp 3200+
    Memory = 2 gb Crucial PC3200 mem
    Graphics Card = Visiontek Radeon x1550 XGE
    Harddrive = ata133 bMaxtor 80 gb HDD
    Optical Drive = Lite-on Cdrw

    No issue with any of the on-board devices, (sound, nic, USB, etc)

    For wireless net access I am using a Linksys wusb54gc USB WIFI adapter.

    Also I did not have to play with any drivers everything has ran straight out of the box since I off loaded the Nvidia geforce fx 5700 I had in here. I dod have nothing but problems with that card under ubuntu. The ati card installed and has ran without a hitch.
    System runs Ubuntu a good deal faster then it runs windows xp.
