I used to be really into Red Faction but the past two years games have fell by the wayside for me. Not enough time anymore *cries*

I am hooked on playing Sid Meier's Railraods! and the Chris Sawyer Rollercoaster Tycoon series - still playing the first and second versions.

I played Lineage 2, WoW, Nitto Legends and some other Win native games on Ubuntu, currently tried War Rock, nothing we can do apparently... I'll be checking those GNU/Linux native FPS you guys mentioned, seem like fun.

Seems everything d/l's to my desktop and then says "can not support this file" lmao!

Once I figure out Team speak I am on to steampowered.com to figure out how to get my H/L games running! I see they have a linux section!
I've used TS before on Linux. There's a GNU/Linux client at TeamSpeak's home page, install that one instead of the Win one.

    Re: Ubuntu Gamers

Me being an "Ubuntu gamer" has a bit of a funny story behind it. Before I started using Linux, I did all of my gaming on consoles. Then I found myself spending so much time on the computer I couldn't justify still owning one, so I sold them all (Xbox 360, PS2, among others). My gaming itch returned eventually, but thus far, it's been more than satisfied by what's available under Linux. The screenshot is of all the games I have installed (the highlighted ones are emulators):

Just about everything there can be found in the repos, with the exceptions of:

Quake Wars: Enemy Territories just came out, which is awesome. Probably the best FPS out right now. DEFCON and Penumbra Overture are two I would recommend, too.
Because the Windows supported game pown the few games supported by Linux... Otherwise I would go Linux 100%. I like to try to play on Linux but I have Windows XP Pro SP3 on 1 HD, Windows 7 Ultimate on a 2nd HD, and Ubuntu 9.04 on a 3rd all of which I can chose which HD to boot from my BIOS start up options which is F8. Plus I have 3 other HDs for my content which I share between my OSes. 6x 500GB SATA II 7200RPM 1 of which is for steam alone, 1 for movies, and the last for what ever else but mainly for my freeware I make for Windows, and the other free content I make.

Sad but true Linux has nothing on Windows Gaming!

    Re: Ubuntu Gamers

You would probably get help a lot faster if you posted a new thread, or found one pertaining directly to your question instead of replying on a thread that's been silent for 7 months. Anyway, here's a link that I found (4th one down on google searching nitto legends ubuntu) that shows how to install wine (super tough) and then install the windows version of the game.

    http://www.nittolegends.com/community/showthread.php?t=141065

BTW, I personally think software has been way more accessible to me since I switched to Linux. Software repositories make installing programs so simple and quick. Use the link above to figure out how to harness some of the power of Ubuntu, and give us a chance.

    Re: Ubuntu Gamers

Do you have the steam or cd version? You'd need to right-click on the .exe setup file and select open with Wine.
