    hiya roninchef,

Yeah, been taking us awhile due to the members being spread out all over the place. Hoping we can atleast get a couple of meetings in different areas going before too long.

    I agree!

Hi all! So I've been using Ubuntu 9.04 for a few months now, and figured its about time I join a LUG/LoCo. I live in Saco,ME by the way, and I work for The Atlas Group in Biddeford. So how do I go about joining the LUG?

Hey Jago! Nice to see another Linux/Ubuntu user here in Maine. I can't really answer your question because not much happens in this loco from what I have seen. Perhaps we can speed it up a bit and start a LUG of our own. What do you say?

EDIT: Scratch that, just saw your earlier post, haha. When are you in Portland for work? Like 9-5 Mon-Fri?

Ok, gang, we need some ideas to really get Ubuntu going in Maine. I am currently working on getting a couple of computers put together for some churches and a couple libraries. What other ideas can we get together to get a push into Maine?

I think Ubuntu needs to get into schools and to a younger crowd. I didn't hear about Linux until I was in college!

    Related thread I started: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1222896

That thread has a lot of good ideas from myself and many other users.

My schedule is pretty crazy during the week. Work is from 8 - 4:30. I don't mind going to Portland on the weekend though.

Yeah a Saturday works well for me. This weekend I don't have a babysitter for my daughter but next Saturday in the afternoon would be good. Work for you?

That works for me but I'll keep you updated if something comes up of course. How old is your daughter? Mine will be 3 in November.

Also, where did you want to meet up?
