Good stuff, definitely interested in this, and glad someone else has the time to do it! Vista made me switch my new laptop to Ubuntu completely.

just saying a quick hello. I love the idea of a maine loco team.
I live in Lewiston, Maine and been a linux user since 1996/97..
I live in Paris, Maine and It is gourgous here! Portland rocks too. I love Ubuntu and we def. need our own LoCo!
Wow, I have a hard time believing there is actually a maine team.
Anyways, My name is John, I am from Newport, so Bangor area sounds really good to me
Yourmysin, I second that motion for the Bangor area, living a mere 30 seconds from downtown Bangor.
I'm quite interested in getting involved with all this. I work at an outsourcing call-center doing tech support, phone based troubleshooting, etc. I know that I myself, as well as several people that I work with, would love to attend some type of Ubuntu party of sorts.
Well I'll be a monkeys' uncle ! ! ! Hello all you "Maine-iacs"!
I just found this thread. Wayyyyy cool.
I've been using Ubuntu for almost a year and have spent a lot of time scouring these forums. Linux noobs face a steep learning curve.
I searched for Loco's and LUG's way back but did not find any close by or active. Recently joined the MELUG-North group. I'm located Downeast, about 30 miles from Bangor.
This is just great! Finally found some Linux users from Maine! I hope I can add something useful and help spread word.

Due to the time constraints that have made it almost impossible for me to get anything done, I feel that it is in the best interest of the team for me to step down. I have already started the process of adding Claydoh as the team lead.
I will still be involved, just not the lead. Ubuntu in Maine has already started to spread but with no time, I cannot help the process out as the lead. So far, we have a great team and I am sure Clay will do nothing but improve it.

is this group active anymore or has it gone the way of MELUG? Relatively new to Ubuntu but I first used linux (Red Hat) back in 1998. I have finally managed to to get a stable install of Feisty Fawn running on my HP laptop but still have Vista installed in a dual boot setup. Just looking for fellow Maine-iacs for convo etc.
Cheers,
Hippy
PS I am in Sanford(Don't rub it in please, lol)
just started using ubuntu really wanted something besides a mac or windows and looking forward to Hardy release...see ya around Mainers!
