    Welcome Harold,

We are still in the process of setting up the team but always glad to have another Maine-iac with us.

    Re: Maine Ubuntu Users

I can set up and admin a forum as a subdomain on claydoh.com if needed, or do the same on our own domain if we get one. Same for any general cms if we decide to use one. I may be able to donate webhosting as well, if needed

As a reminder, Saturday June 2nd at 7pm in #ubuntu-maine is our first irc meeting. If you can't make it, the meeting will be logged so you can enjoy it later if you want.

    Re: Maine Ubuntu Users

Some major things are happening. I have secured us a domain (more to come) and it comes with some good deals. Everyone that wants a e-mail address can have one, we will have space for a subdomain for everyone as well.

This domain will also allow us to have our own forums and mailing list as well as some other good things along the way. I am still looking into getting us a good deal on some t-shirts and hats.

More to come as it develops,

    Cheers,

Ok, it is now official. http://www.ubuntumaine.org is active. The site is up but I am continuing to work on it. At the site is also the Maine-iacs forums.

    Free Software Day

As some of you know, Free Software Day is coming up. This is the information that was sent to the LoCo team mailinglist. Do you think we can get something setup? If so, where would be a good place to do this?

    Greetings,

Just a reminder to people about Software Freedom Day 2007, which is on
    September 15th.

    >From the website http://softwarefreedomday.org:
"Software Freedom Day is a global, grassroots effort to educate the
public about the importance of software freedom and the virtues and
availability of Free and Open Source Software."

While team registrations are possible up until the day of the event, if
you register *before the 31st of July*, your SFD team will receive a
free pack of helpful items such as Tshirts, CDS (Ubuntu and
    TheOpenCD.org), balloons and stickers.

You don't need to have all the details worked out to register, as
there's still several months to figure that stuff out in. Working with
existing LUGs in your country or area is also highly recommended and
    very useful.

If you want to discuss evil (or not so evil) plans with other SFD teams,
there are several places to do so:

    IRC: #sfd on freenode
    Mailing Lists:
    http://mail.sf-day.org/lists/listinfo/sfd-discuss (discussion)
    http://mail.sf-day.org/lists/listinfo/sfd-announce (announcements)

Also, some additional reading can be found at:
