    Hi.

The staff team are completely aware richbarna & friends situation.

Please refrain in future from suggesting other users are flaming and instead use the "report" button if you think a post is in violation of the forum guidelines.

This is only a "warning" and will not affect your access to the forums in any way.

Thanks for your activity in the community and I hope you are enjoying your time spent here.

Re: recieved a warning for innocent post-unimpressed

PriceChild was asking you to please refrain from openly confronting bad behavior by posting in a thread and instead to please contact the staff, preferably by using the "report bad post" function.

The Forum Guidelines say this several times, although not in as clear a fashion as we would like...hence the message he sent.
If you feel a user is out of line please contact an administration with the details
    and
Sometimes you will be faced with a thread you might not agree with it's imperative you keep an open mind towards all inclusive people, and keep a neutral focus when replying. It is our duty to steer the conversations back into a positive nature without engaging in negative behavior.
Basically, let us take the heat for dealing with stuff rather than doing it yourself. When staff deals with things most of the time it goes over better. When other forums users comment on bad behavior in a thread it generally escalates the tensions and can cause full arguments to erupt.

That's why PriceChild issued the warning and also why he didn't issue any infraction points. Your intent was good and we recognize and thank you for it. He was helping you know the best way to help us. I'm sorry it appeared differently to you, I don't believe that offending or censuring you was intended in any way.

Other forums the report button is either used by Trolls or when it turns nasty, if forum staff want a greater workload then I'll report it.
I understand the 0 infraction points, but would prefer it removed as a pm would have been ample.
The point that niggled me was I felt that backyard was Adult conversation and the infraction was given to me because I feel PriceChild wasn't impartial.

I've no issue or grudge to bear and if you'd like to delete this thread.

I'm going to quote parts of the Backyard rules as posted in the Backyard and explain how they apply to your post.

*ALL* posts and replies must be polite and courteous. You are not free to degrade, demean, humiliate, troll and attack other forum members, ethnic groups or political groups.
    Sorry, yours wasn't.
If you feel any thread or post violates the #1 rule of this forum, please use the report thread button or contract a moderator/administrator via PM.
Here is where you were asked to report.
What does courteous mean: "Characterized by gracious consideration toward others."
What does polite mean: "Marked by or showing consideration for others, tact, and observance of accepted social usage."
Your post stood on shaky ground with this.

In the event a *Moderator* or *Administrator* does find any violation of the #1 rule in this forum they have the option at their sole descretion to:
    a. Remove the post and send it to the jail.
    b. Lock the thread.
    c. Ban the user.
    d. Give the user an infraction point.
    e. Do any of the above.
PriceChild chose to be very gracious and give a warning. I support and applaud that decision. Complaining about what could have been dealt with much more harshly according to the posted rules strikes me as a little ungrateful. I felt and still feel he was within his rights to do as he did. I don't think he acted with partiality, unless it was by being kinder than the rules would seem to dictate.

Shall we just close the matter and move on?

Re: recieved a warning for innocent post-unimpressed

I'll stay far away from the backyard as I'm sure that I'd be bound to pick up points for expressing my views on certain subjects at some stage.

I'll stick to the general sections for the time being and while everyone has differing views, your right that I am not an administrator and therefore not my issue how others behave.

I'd like you to close this please and thank you for your time

    Daniel

    Consider it closed.

EDIT: you know, I just read my previous post in this thread and I came across rather harshly. You were just trying to be helpful and didn't deserve the barrage. I blew it...sorry. I stand by my first post and should have just left it there.
