    Virtual Iron virtualization

Does anyone use this? It's open-source virtualization, and there's a linux download available on their site. It looks pretty cool, and I'll be trying it when I get home.

I d/l'd it a while back to test at work. I never got around to it, but I was turned off by their incessant spamming. Since we have VMware already, have kinda "back-burnered" it. But please let us know how you see it.

Did you try this, and if so, what was it like?

It's alright...I didn't use it for very long. Installation failed the first time, so I was a bit put off by it. I find VirtualBox to be much better. http://www.virtualbox.org

For the record, VirtualIron has absolutely no support for Ubuntu - the Dapper discs won't even show up on the VDI console.

And, frankly, it's crap software anyway (at least, their 'Extended Enterprise Edition' is) - it's slow, clunky and a pain to set up.

Meh, VMWare & Virtual Box have pretty much gotten themselves into being the defacto virtualization standards. Even Xen has taken a back seat...
