Re: HOWTO: Pocket PC Syncing with Evolution

This method doesn't work well for me, I have written a thread on How to Connect to a WM5/WM6 Device with USB and sync with Evolution or Kontact, let's start from there if you have a newer device.

Re: HOWTO: Pocket PC Syncing with Evolution

    Hi,

I've been through the steps listed. I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 and I have an Ipaq HW6915. When I try synce-pstatus, I get

synce-pstatus: Could not find configuration at path '(Default)'

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do I have to recompile the kernel? This seems a bit scary to me (until very recently I've been a windows only user and so compiling the kernel sounds like a terrifying way to loose everything).

    Cheers,

    Hugh.

Re: HOWTO: Pocket PC Syncing with Evolution

I got a MIO DIGIWALKER a701 - it is a windows mobile 5 phone. I am trying to sync it to evolution as well, but when i connect it and try the dmesg command it doesnt show me an ipac kernel or anything like it. the result for a lsusb is this line:
    BUS 002 DEVICE 004: ID 3340:a0a1 Yakumo
It doesnt show in the SynCE or multi-sync so i cannot make it work.
    Anybody ?

Re: HOWTO: Pocket PC Syncing with Evolution

Worked perfect the first time through. Using 7.04 and a Sprint PPC6600 on Windows Mobile 2003.

The only extra step I had to do was "Resync" to get the contacts from the phone to Evolution on the first Sync.

do you have a password? if so, try to disable it once.

Thankyou codeslicer!! I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 and a Medion MDPPC250 and your code here has made it work for me. I thought I had this fixed last week, but ran into the problems others have had with
    Code:
synce-pstatus: Unable to initialize RAPI: An unspecified failure has occurred
It synchronised once at the first attempt, and then I never could get it to go again. This seems to have fixed it, for now.

    Thank YOU!

Now I need to get multisync to backup and synchronise a file (not Evolution) for my password vault. Any ideas on that anyone?

    TIA

Re: HOWTO: Pocket PC Syncing with Evolution

    Hi,

anyone solved the time problem when syncing Evolution with the pda? I read all through the thread but didn't find anything. In my case every appointment on Evolution is one hour later than I entered it on the pda. Time zone on pda and Evolution are the same, hardware time is local (due to windows dual boot).
    Any hints?

Re: HOWTO: Pocket PC Syncing with Evolution

Hello everyone. I get to the last step ("synce-matchmaker create INDEX") but I get the error:

    Code:
    joshua@joshua-laptop:~$ synce-matchmaker create
[synce_info_from_file:51] unable to open file: /home/joshua/.synce/active_connection
[rapi_context_connect:100] Failed to get connection info
    [main:62] Failed to initialize RAPI
Same thing if I type any number after "create". I've got a Motorola Q (WM5) and Ubuntu Gutsy.

hi. i have an i-mate jam (windows mobile 2003 se). i followed all the instruction but when it got to the part of making a partnership, i got this message:

    dan@Ace:~$ synce-matchmaker create INDEX
[rra_matchmaker_create_partnership:380] Partnership not found and there are no empty partner slots on device.
Partnership creation failed. Maybe there is no empty partnership slot?
