I've attached sample posters as a reference for what we could use. Don't go flyering just yet -- I wanted to get your opinions on it, or at least on what text should be on it.
And yes, this is just a modification of the Ubuntu Obey Poster

I don't think it's worded right. It should say something simpler... like "The ubuntu NJ community needs new members to spread ubuntu across the Garden State!"
I've modified the poster and uploaded the new one, following suggestions by my girlfriend and the guy that made the original. I think the new font fits in much better with the rest of the image, and it looks better overall with less text.

I would like to join up. I am in East Orange NJ
Certainly. See the wiki page for more info:

I really think if a normal person saw that, the first question they would ask is
"WTF, is Ubuntu"
Maybe a little more information would help.
My 2 cents
I understand the whole WWII motif "Uncle Sam Needs You!" However, not too many people know what linux is, let alone Ubuntu. I think you should approach this from a windows user's perspective. Remember all the gripes we have with windows? Perhaps you could incorporate this logic into your advertisement.
Or you could draw a Sopranos poster with all of the cast, but make them all penguins. lol
yeah...for someone who's already into linux this seems fine. but if you're aiming to get windows users on ubuntu, this poster doesnt provide enough information....maybe I'll have a go at making my own poster in a little while (when I switch hd's back to ubuntu...im on windows atm and its so annoying)...i do like the way you made it look, though. good design.
It was designed to be a poster to recruit for the LoCo Team, not to get people to use Ubuntu. It's designed for people that do know what linux is, and do know what Ubuntu is.
