HOWTO: E17 Installation/Customization on Hoary

okey, i skipped the iconbar package but something else appeared.

dpkg-parsechangelog: error: cannot open debian/changelog to find format: No such file or directory
dpkg-buildpackage: unable to determine source package

is this package needed by enlightenment to do well ?

i cannot find libe-dev in synaptic and in apt-get :

i've install e17 without the apps for it ... anyone know how to start it, cause i don't see the executable?

Since almost everyone except me seems to have problems getting the script to work properly, I decided to create a repository for all this new e-stuff that you can use instead of the script. I'll update it every once in a while. To use it add

deb http://ubuntu.nooms.de/ hoary/

to your /etc/apt/sources.list, run

sudo apt-get update

and you'll be able to choose from the following applications to install:

enlightenment - The e17 windowmanager.
entice - An imageviewer.
engage - An OS X-like dock.
elicit - A screen zoomer/color picker.
eclair - Mediaplayer (Video and Audio).

To install the windowmanager itself you've to use the following command because it differs from e16 (in Hoary) in the version only:

sudo apt-get install enlightenment=0.16.999.003-0cvs20050325 enlightenment-data=0.16.999.003-0cvs20050325

ok. e17 finally installed. i had been following the original guide from the warty section so i removed the /usr/share/xsessions/e17.desktop and everything else from that method. now i'm not sure what new e17.desktop file i should create to get it in my session list.

e17 runs perfectly now, when I used smoons .debs. Before this crashed all the time. Now, I'll just read get-e's manuals and try to make this more beatiful ( http://get-e.org/Main/Home.html ).
