I used this on my MFC 215c and I had no problems whatsoever.
I just have one questions.
When i run Kooka with command "kdesu kooka" it shows output below and then loads Kooka prefectly and everithing works.

And when i just run Kooka from Kmenu (without sudo permission) it just showes message that there is no scanner even if i select brother scanner at the beaginning.
Why is that so?
I just wanna know why this happens, remember, if i use root permission everything works, just shows upper output.
