Maybe I'm the last one to know about it, but here is a link to the latest project of Mr Duval , the creator of Mandrake/Mandriva Linux :

It's based on Kubuntu, from what I've read, and it should be a Linux based on their server , that u can reach through browser from any connected PC...

Yes this is the idea. I don't really know how successful this can be. But it seems interesting to see what it looks like.
Unfortunately, no screenshots and no iso to download yet.

Uhm...I think it would be cool to be on holiday, find a pc connected and load your os, but it might be slow if you dont have fast connection, and privacy is also a concern...

It's brilliant for people who have no computer knowledge and just have Windows or Mac Os and have no idea how to burn an ISO/Boot from a CD to even get to Live CD point. All they'd have to do is log onto the website and they have an instant Linux desktop.
Pretty nifty.
