Re: Gens for Linux ubuntu package

    Hey guys.

Gens doesn't seem to work for some reason.

This is what I get when trying to install/extract the file:

    Code:
    r2rxsu@r2rx:~/Desktop$ sudo dpkg -i gens-2.15.5-1.i386.deb
    [sudo] password for r2rxsu:
    dpkg: error processing gens-2.15.5-1.i386.deb (--install):
cannot access archive: No such file or directory
    Errors were encountered while processing:
     gens-2.15.5-1.i386.deb
Any ideas why it's happening? I'll appreciate the assistance.

Zshare seems to be OK now

Also bare in mind that you can download the same packages on the Gens sourceforge website...

There's a good reason it's not already in there:

Official Gens is on hiatus for the time being. I'd recommend downloading Gens/GS until we can get these changes uploaded back to official Gens.

    Gens/GS 2.15.5 M5

Gens/GS is a version of Gens for Linux maintained by GerbilSoft. The main goal of Gens/GS is to clean up the source code and combine features from various forks of Gens.

    Website: http://info.sonicretro.org/Gens/GS
    Forum Thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=959074

I've removed Gens 2.12b from this thread. Its not maintained anymore and getting very long in the tooth. Besides why would you want to run it anyway?

Re: Gens for Linux ubuntu package

Hey, sorry if I missed this somewhere in this thread, but did anyone ever get fullscreen aspect ratio working to fit to the screen? I love the GFCEU emulator, it seems to be the most stable on linux. But, I am kind of OCD about little issues like not being able to stretch the image to fit the screen. Anyone got that working yet?
    **Edit
Sorry, I just realized I posted this in the wrong thread!

Any chance of an Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit version?

Re: Gens for Linux ubuntu package

Can we still hope for updates for this? I've moved back to this version at the moment since I get a better experience with it. Gens/GS is a bit laggy and slow for me.

    Cheers.

Any chance of netplay ever being added? I want to play Sonic with people.

Re: Gens for Linux ubuntu package

Hey man, doesn't look like that z share website is working out for Intrepid. For some reason when I use the Gens package at sourceforge I can't open Gens without the terminal... So I figured I'd give this page a try. They aren't the exact same packages, right?
