Can you repost this conky code along with the lines that produce the images you used. No other code necessary.

If it works here, my "guess" is it has to do with the new Ubuntu.

These are the same lines that I used in 12.04. The red screenshot is Ubuntu 12.04 and the same code works fine in it.

Thanks for the response. Some of the exact matches in His config wouldn't be useful such as the 8 core CPU monitor. Thanks for all of the info, I'll reach out to robgraves for more info. Ill re-post with a finished product .
