i opened my console :
$cd ~
$ls -a
so i didn't find the conkyrc file i am new here

ahh,
I don't use the terminal for that kinda stuff.
I was just unsure how one could have a conky and not know where the files were.
I mean, it has to be installed/edited by the user, after all.

I was just curious.

Or do "atl+F2" write in "sudo gedit . conkyrc"

He just said it wasnt there.. "ls -a" will show all files including hidden ones.

Hey Volvo, did you install Conky yet? It will normally place a .conkyrc file in your home directory. If you did try running conky from the CLI using just "conky" and see what it says. You may have just overlooked the file, but if its there it will load a generic RC file.

The default file is found at

/etc/conky/conky.conf

Open terminal and

gedit /etc/conky/conky.conf

Make changes and save to /home/<user>/.conkyrc

If you have yet to install conky then in a terminal run

sudo apt-get install conky-all

If i were you i would also run

sensors

and if not installed

sensors-detect

depending on what OS version you are using

[proxess]
