Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

I got the boot issue fixed, I'm still having issues to get the RSS feed to work proplerly, It reads incorrectly with digg on some headlines, and I'm trying to get it to do engadget, but it's not letting me.

I'm also having issues with getting the weather to line up correctly. Any advice would help, thanks!

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

ok guys im having problems trying to align my conky. I have a dual setup and I am trying to get my conky to display on the right monitor top center. I have a resolution of 1280x1024. I have tried setting the x and y to 1280 and 1024 but doesn't work. I dont quite understand the offset settings. Can someone direct me in the right direction to read up on this. I have been to the sourceforge site but I guess I must be an idiot.

well are you using the alignment top_right setting? if so and you are using twinview (desktop stretched over 2 displays) , than you would want to use an offset of half of 1280 which is around 640. If you're using 2 seperate Screens than I am not sure how to spawn conky on the second ?

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Two questions that I would kill for awnsers for:

1: I have a section that shows top processes (see screenshot 3 posts up) and occasionally when I run a program with a long name it will push the MEM% info off the draw area. Is there any way to limit the text width for a variable?

2: I have conky set to update every 2 seconds but occasionally (i notice it most with FF browsing a site with flash) it wont update for maybe 5-8 seconds (sometimes longer!) then do a couple of really fast updates. Any idea on whats happening?

You could try $alignl for the name and $alignr on the MEM.

NEVER type a command you don't understand eg. sudo rm -rf / or something similar
Learn about them here or here.
