Hi everyone,

has anyone figured out how to load images with lua+cairo?

eg.

image = cairo_image_surface_create_from_png ("xy.png")
cairo_set_source_surface (cr, image, 0, 0)
cairo_paint (cr)

does not work for me. No idea why. I could use imlib2 but I rather want to stick to cairo.

Any help is appreciated.

Am I the only one who's starting to use this thread as an archive? I went back to an older conky setup and searched through here to find it. Need to give each post a unique name so I can do it more easily.

No, you're not the only one! Although I started to find it difficult after a while, which is part of the reason I started my own blog to archive it as well

Don't be intimidated, I just have no life, and I just quite like sitting down in front of the telly and coding my little brains out. I'm a bit OCD, which is why they come out so quickly...There's always something *not quite right* about them, so they get ditched for the next one! I do miss some of my old configs, though, and I'm not as good at archiving them as I would like

I think that's probably true of a lot of us in the CCCC!

yeah but i have been following this thread since about page 500 and ill I have to show for it is that. although there is nothing hotter then a beautiful girl who can write great code in my honest opinion.

Are there any ArchLinux users here who have successfully built conky with lua (conky-lua from AUR) on 64 bit Arch?

I am desperate to get lua support in conky but am having troubles with the tolua++ build for conky...
