    What fonts are you using? The clock one looks nicer than mine (and mono-spaced?)
    The clock font is Dot Matrix, the font for the temperatures and dates is Futurist Fixed\-width, and the weather font is Weather. The Futurist font is monospaced (and very pretty). I believe I got all of these fonts from http://www.dafont.com.

    Once again, this code is derived from pemur1's code
    This is similar but not the same as the one I posted before
    This has been tweaked so it works on dual-core processor
    This too has 24h clock
    This too has no weather-thingie
    This too has improved processor-name extraction with unix commands
    This too is for white background
    Code:

    Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    So, what's happening, if I didn't explain it well enough before, is that in my top_mem category, the memory% is changing, moving up and down, but the names of the processes and the PID are not changing or moving at all. My top_cpu category does work though. Here is the code for the top_mem:

    ${font Arial:bold:size=10}${color Tan1}TOP PROCESSES (MEMORY) ${color DarkSlateGray}${hr 2}
    ${font Arial:bold:size=9}${color red}${top_mem name 1}${goto 160}${top_mem pid 1}${alignr 2}${top mem 1} %${color}${font}
    ${top_mem name 2}${goto 160}${top_mem pid 2}${alignr 2}${top mem 2} %
    ${top_mem name 3}${goto 160}${top_mem pid 3}${alignr 2}${top mem 3} %
    ${top_mem name 4}${goto 160}${top_mem pid 4}${alignr 2}${top mem 4} %
    ${top_mem name 5}${goto 160}${top_mem pid 5}${alignr 2}${top mem 5} %

    I think I got it right. Is there any package that I need installed for this to work?

    Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    2 problems I could use your help on.
    1)I am having problems with the degree symbol. I've read about putting the statement to override the utf8 character set but when I do this nothing happens. I'm a little frustrated and am about to just get a font with a degree symbol and stick it in there.
    Here are my .conkyrc as well as a screenshot. Mostly it is just cobbled together from other people's scripts seen on these forums.

    I'm also having trouble getting conky to display on startup.
    I have placed a script in my startup applications where it sleeps for 10 seconds before starting (and I don't even have Compiz effects on or anything). I can check ps to see that conky is running but it never grabs the display and outputs anything. So I'm at a loss for that. I just end up killing the running conky and restart it manually. Then it grabs the display

    Thanks.

    Very nice.

    My wife would decapitate me if I had something like that on my desktop.

    Here are my .conkyrc as well as a screenshot. Mostly it is just cobbled together from other people's scripts seen on these forums.

    I was able to run your conky file and see the degree symbol (see attached), although it looked like crap. I don't have the Radio Space font. Regardless, the symbol was there.

    is it possible that the font doesn't have a degree symbol? try a different font.

    as for issue 2,can you post the script you are using to execute conky?

    This is my script:
    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    /bin/sleep 10
    /usr/bin/conky > /dev/null 2>&1
    the command launched from the startup application is
    Code:
    /home/nicolae/.conkystartup.sh &
    As I look at this is the script sending all output to dev/null? or is that just the ancillary text that it produces is sent there? Not sure if that is the problem.

    Radio Space does have a degree symbol. I just checked.
    I believe that others have had the ugly A before the degree symbol. I think the utf8 setting fixed that. I don't get any other text rendered after the degree symbol on that line. As I have the trailing C that doesn't get rendered either.

    Thanks for the quick response.

    Is there any way to make the top mem usage on this list highlighted in whatever color? I know what the top CPU is, as it's at the top, but i'd just like the top mem in a different color.

    Code:
    ${font Arial:bold:size=10}${color Tan1}TOP PROCESSES ${color DarkSlateGray}${hr 2}${color}${font}
    ${font Arial:bold:size=9}${color blue} NAME ${goto 100} PID ${goto 160} %MEM ${alignr 5} %CPU
    ${font Arial:bold:size=9}${color red}${top name 1}${goto 95}${top pid 1}${goto 160}${top mem 1}%${alignr}${top cpu 1} %${color}${font}
    ${top name 2}${goto 95}${top pid 2}${goto 160}${top mem 2}${alignr 2}${top cpu 2} %
    ${top name 3}${goto 95}${top pid 3}${goto 160}${top mem 3}${alignr 2}${top cpu 3} %
    ${top name 4}${goto 95}${top pid 4}${goto 160}${top mem 4}${alignr 2}${top cpu 4} %
    ${top name 5}${goto 95}${top pid 5}${goto 160}${top mem 5}${alignr 2}${top cpu 5} %
    ${top name 6}${goto 95}${top pid 6}${goto 160}${top mem 6}${alignr 2}${top cpu 6} %
    ${top name 7}${goto 95}${top pid 7}${goto 160}${top mem 7}${alignr 2}${top cpu 7} %
