In other configs I have given the conky window a title and then used wmctrl to toggle above/below.

    .....
See the attached mp4(164kb) to see in action.
    Code:
    wmctrl -a myconky -b toggle,above
    You need to install wmctrl.
It works great but I need tinkering for my 1280 wide built in display + 1368 wide external LCD display. The conky window covers the right side of the built in display and the left side of the external TV because it is aligned in the middle of 2648 pixels instead of the middle of your 1024 pixels.

I'll download the mp4 later and have a peek.

Thanks for all the tips... I know what I'm doing next weekend

EDIT: Well got to install an mp4 plug-in to the video player just now... LOL. wmctrl is nifty and your SimpleScreenRecorder you used to make the mp4 file is even better. Thanks again!

I tried your Conky Run Configuration (rc) file on my system but it went into an endless loop looking for drivers or something I don't have installed yet. I don't have time to load new drivers tonight but thought you warranted some sort of reply. My gut instinct would be to change the text buffer size from 2048 (2048 x 1536 resolution I surmise) to 1366 and give that a try. But you need an expert like Sector 11 or Crankus for a definitive answer.

Can you elaborate on what doesn't fit?... ie top, bottom, left or right; is missing x or y, etc.

I am playing a while with conky with copy and paste work. This is the result. Is this correct code I use?

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Jessie_James_A._At : I played with it last night and you need to change the {offset} and {voffset} in front of the CPU and MEM sections plus make the graph bars not as tall. I was disappointed that the file space used and free couldn't be adapted past the / root directory. I'll need to research that some more.

Changing the Text Buffer Size might be helpful too but it doesn't change the huge spaces between between the CPU, MEM, DISK and NETWORK sections.

    This is the result:

I adapted this to my Laptops's external TV resolution of 1368x768 - thanks a bunch

Some tweaking for your own setup:

o Remove the extra space behind "$machine "
o Remove the two extra spaces behind "#processes "
    o Insert spaces in "$mem/$memmax" to get "$mem / $memmax"
o To get correct memory usage bar change "${fs_bar" to "${membar". On the next line "${fs_bar" for Hard disk SHOULD NOT BE CHANGED.

I have a nagging feeling there was another tweak or two for your setup but I can't remember them. About half of your Run Configuration file I had to delete because they were irrelevant or unsupported on my setup. I expanded Top CPU Users from 4 to 5 and Top Memory Users from 3 to 5.

    Many Thanks!

I was disappointed that the file space used and free couldn't be adapted past the / root directory. I'll need to research that some more.

Changing the Text Buffer Size might be helpful too but it doesn't change the huge spaces between between the CPU, MEM, DISK and NETWORK sections.
ok mate, i'll try editing the offset & voffset.. i will post the result later on.

Make a copy of your original and try this one where I resized the network graphs and moved them up.
