    Yes, the "-p" switch. See man conky for details.

    Looks like I need little help. I tried following this

    Now I can see this

    I'm using 14.04 Gnome.
    Is there anything I'm missing?

    You running conky -c /path/to/your/conkyrc?

    Apparently not, I was sure it would be detected as it was being detected with default.
    I only ran with
    Code:
    conky &
    You hit the nail on its head

    Also, since you're here, is there any quick guide to ''how to modify conky for dummies'' somewhere? Looks like I'm gonna need one hahaha

    Everything I learned about manipulating conky, I learned in this thread and the man page, and docs.
    http://conky.pitstop.free.fr/wiki/in...itle=Main_Page is an excellent resource also.

    I just took other people's RCs and bent them to my will by way of example, as I consider helper apps (conky Manager) cheating.

    It all depends on what you want to "do" with it.

    I got exactly what I was looking for (with little tinkering) just few pages back.

    Thanks Ricardo15!!!

    Now I want to know how I can add an Live RSS feed or news loop to this as well and if possible add icon in there just like how Ricardo had in his original work, any ideas?

    conky-rss.sh
    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    # RSS Display Script by Bill Woodford (admin@sdesign.us) v1.0
    #
    #RSS Setup - Don't change unless you want these values hard-coded!
    uri=$1                                                  #URI of RSS Feed
    lines=$2                                                #Number of headlines
    titlenum=$3                                             #Number of extra titles
    #Script start
    #Require a uri, as a minimum
    if [[ "$uri" == "" ]]; then
            echo "No URI specified, cannot continue!" >&2
            echo "Please read script for more information" >&2
    else
            #Set defaults if none specified
            if [[ $lines == "" ]]; then lines=25 ; fi
            if [[ $titlenum == "" ]]; then titlenum=2 ; fi

            #The actual work
            curl -s --connect-timeout 30 $uri |\
            sed -e 's/<\/title>/\n/g' |\
            grep -o '<title>.*' |\
            sed -e 's/<title>//' |\
            head -n $(($lines + $titlenum)) |\
            tail -n $(($lines))
    fi
    Call it in the existing (or a new conkyrc even) with
    Code:
    TEXT
    ${execi 300 /path/to/conky-rss.sh }
    I'd use a new conkrc so you have better control over the placement of the rss feed. You can even stack it over|under|next to your existing conkyrc, using controls like the one you have now:
    ie:
    Code:
    # Screen size = 1440x900
    own_window yes
    own_window_colour brown
    own_window_transparent yes
    own_window_type desktop
    own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager
    double_buffer yes
    text_buffer_size 2048 #1024
    use_xft yes
    alignment tl
    gap_x 5
    gap_y 44
    Setup a .sh script to start both with:
    Code:
    conky -c /path/to/conkyrc0 &
    conky -c /path/to/conkyrc1 &
    Hope that helps.

    I'll be peeking in on ya.

    I followed your instructions to create one more conkyrc and that rss.sh file and copy pasted what you've wrote as it is.

    Assuming that the new rss feed is in /path/to/conkyrc1
    post contents of that file or whichever file you put the code in please.
