    Nevermind. The fact that F worked, when the others didn't, lead me to believe that the issue was related to battery short containing more than just the D (ie it will never be equal to D). A bit more squirreling around, and googlefuing, and I now have a working battery indicator. Posting here helped me get my head around the issue, so thanks for that.

    Hey guys, Stinkeye pointed me this way (Aussie Aussie Aussie) due to
    an issue with if_match that I'm having. Hope someone can help, because I'm drawing a blank.

    I'm having a problem with one of the lua scripts in the v9000 group. When it displays the current temp and WC-HI, (the two larger numbers displayed) the top of the font is chopped off. I tried reducing the size of the font but that didn't help. The font decreased in size, but the tops were still chopped off.

    I'm using Mint 14 64-bit, kernel 3.5.0.17-generic and Conky 1.9.0.

    It's a problem with the font: Digital-7. It stopped working properly a while back and so I stopped using it.

    My recommendations would be
    1. WW Digital - it gets the ° and text right
    2. DS-Digital - if you are not using ° or text (caps only)
    3. Digital Readout Upright - if you are not using ° or text (caps only)
    4. Digitalk - numbers only - no symbols ( ° & % $ ) or text
    5. Digit - no symbols ( ° & % $ ) but text is fine

    You are right, LCDMono and LCDMono2 I keep forgetting them.

    They don't do °, caps only and they are missing some symbols as well.


    Both excellent fonts though.

    Anyway you got me tweaking that template again - I turned it into a ten day template.

    Here it is under construction - I gotta find or make a "Conky Under Construction" wallpaper:

    Notice the 250°, 240° and 240° for the Next 3 Hours.

    That's to cover spacing for things like "-25°" or "101°" (F) we'd be in trouble if it was °C

    And the finished template in action:

    Changes in spacing (see above) came about because of the new mono font: monofur. I like it, others don't.
