@sector11, no one has ever written a song for me before!
That's absolutely hillarious! We here in "The County" consider ourselves "the other Maine". Mainiacs is what we really are though!

Glad you got the files. Hope they can be of some help to someone. Remember, I only copy/paste!!!

hahaha, been a busy day, just got back for the third time. I couldn't help it the the theme song came to mind - had to change it. That all I did, made a parody out of it, didn't actually write it....

But now that version is: Jed's Conky Song.

I use to live in Nova Scotia and made it to Bar Harbor a few times but never knew what you called yourselves.

Definitely Lovin' it!!! I think I changed it to this already, courtesy of your very own 's11template.lua' which I'm sure you must have. hehehe
I changed all the colors as you can see, as well as shrunk the overall text size and adjusted where everything was lining up. Just never enough screen space! Amazing how much info you have at your fingertips using conky. In the one that I've posted here, it is a mish-mash of yours (sector11), VinDSL, and arclance. On the left is NOT conky, just gmusicbrowser with the added plugin from VastOne, whom I'd be remiss to not mention.
Others have helped and I'm sorry if I forget to mention you here! The previous post will also work with minimal fuss by simply un-commenting the last part of the .conkyrc, which someone nicer than me had the decency to comment above each section making it so simple a chimp could do it! Hope you like. The desktop backgrounds came from Deviantart.

Please know this is designed for my laptop and yours is going to be different! I've got a 15.6 inch screen with a screen rez of 1920x1080.

    This is my .conkyrc

The v9000 lua stuff can be had here!

The bargraph_small.lua and the draw_bg.lua are part of the VinDSL scripts which are easily found by searching here on UbuntuForums or over at #!Crunchbanglinux forums.
I would like to know how did you get your music lyrics on the left side there. That's what I want. Assuming that is another conky.

No, not conky it is: gmusicbrowser.

I don't bother with the lyrics. It's GREATEST little music player going!

I'm sure Jed will pop in and tell you how, or VastOne, I honestly don't know. But step one will be installing it.

LamboDroid: I would like to know how did you get your music lyrics on the left side there. That's what I want. Assuming that is another conky.
First, no it is not anything to do with Conky. Second, if you need the gmusicbrowser music player, simply use the link provided above by Sector11. Second you'll need to install VastOne's plugins. If you click the plugin link to the left it should download VastOne's plugin. Move that to the ~/.config/gmusicbrowser/Plugins folder which you may need to create. From there, just open gmusicbrowser, goto settings, plugins tab, and from the dropdown box select the Lyrics plugin then add. You also obviously need to select the Lyrics plugin listed on the left of the window in order to activate it. Once you clicked on the add button next to the dropdown box, you will see the plugin listed below in the window. Click on it and set it up however you like. It is fairly strait forward.
VastOne deserves the credit for this as he's the one who offered up his brilliance on my behalf. He has a thread on the #!Crunchbang site you can check out here for even more info. There are several music players that you can get working using Conky, but when VastOne pointed out the simplicity of the gmusicbrowser I totally disregarded the other 17 players listed in his HowTo! Hope this helped! If not the link to VastOne's thread is very clear and concise. Also, since I started using gmusicbrowser, I think it should be the default player installed when you install Linux!

Thanks. Only thing is I can't get the lyrics to show. Everything else is working great.

It's mine - I created it in 2009, with a few tweaks here and there since then - mainly the launcher area with tips from VastOne.

It's a nice simple one. I've downloaded others and put them in ~/home/.conkyrc like I've seen, and they all have that error. I checked, and there is an imlib- program on my computer. I don't see anything about it in the file, though, so what is it looking for, and why does it affect all of the conkys I've tried?

I'm using Bodhi Linux 2.1.0. with the latest Enlightenment WM.

Can anyone help me get this crazy thing working? Any of them?

    Thanks in advance!!

OK what do you get in a terminal for conky version:

    Code:
    conky -v
    I get some errors:

    Code:
      11 Oct 12 | 19:04:09 ~
             $ Conky: /home/sector11/conky/test276.rolypolycat.conky: 19: no such configuration: 'border_margin'
Conky: use_spacer should have an argument of left, right, or none. 'no' seems to be some form of 'false', so defaulting to none.
    Conky: unknown variable freq_dyn
Conky: desktop window (322) is root window
    Conky: window type - override
Conky: drawing to created window (0x1e00001)
    Conky: drawing to double buffer
    localhost [127.0.0.1] 7634 (?) : Connection refused
    localhost [127.0.0.1] 7634 (?) : Connection refused
    localhost [127.0.0.1] 7634 (?) : Connection refused

This: localhost [127.0.0.1] 7634 (?) : Connection refused - is from the conky looking for the HDD temperture. Install 'hddtemp' and do it this way:
    Code:
    ${execi 15 hddtemp -n /dev/sda}°
Did you install 'lm-sensors'? If not again in a terminal:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install lm-sensors
once it's installed again in a terminal:
    Code:
    sudo sensors-detect
answer [Y]es to 'everything' even the last question and then post the results of
    Code:
    sensors
See the # in the menu bar when creating/editing a post that will put [ code]this is code[ /code] tags around code:
    Code:
    this is code
There are a few things to do:

    1. border_margin is defunct and replaced with:
    Code:
    border_inner_margin
    border_inner_margin
    2. use_spacer - change to none - no is no longer an option.

    3. you have commands like this: $color0} - change these to ${color0} and

    4. you have commands with no {} - that can create some problems at times, best to use them all the time.

Be back shortly with code cleaned up a little.

    Try this:

    Code:
    background yes
    use_xft yes
    xftfont Bitstream Vera Sans Mono:size=8
    xftalpha 0.8

What probably will not work is:
    ${hwmon 2 temp 1} - for CPU Temp
