Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

i have a question about RSS

is it possible to skip a line if the feed is empty

i have a rss with 30 TV series that aired yesterday
each series is in a extra line and has its own rss feed in conky

but not all of them air on the same day,
so know i have a a empty line when the show was not on tv, and with 30 shows there are a few empty lines between the shows that aired.

is that understandable its not so easy to explain if English isn't your first language

I don't think that it is possible with conky functions, but if you outhouse the logic of the conkyrc to a script, everything is possible. Perl has enourmous text functions, though I am shure you can do it with bash, too. The script outputs the conky formatted text to STDOUT which you can import by calling it with execi serving your conkyrc.

I tried working on this a little more, it only happens with the first line displayed. If I add
a dummy or filler line "${color white}${alignc}${font Arial:size=12}." which displays just a centered period the text on the next line displays correctly. (Although I am not sure if centering is perfect)
I don't understand it, not sure if it is a conky bug, with the first line of centered text the shadow does not line up with the text.

Just looked at your post,I have never used shadows in conky before but was wondering if you have tried use_spacer command tha t would be use_spacer left/right to solve this?
Do you have beans that can not be seen with the human eye?

Thank you, I looked into that and I had it set for "right" changed it to "none" and still had the same problem. It said it was for mono spaced fonts, I don't think arial is mono spaced.

I am not sure if "shades" is the same thing as shadow but when I turn shades off the problem disappears because the dark line to the right, bottom of characters disappears.

Opps I should have checked that, mono spaced fonts have mono in there name...
I believe shades is like an outline around the font..not sure about shadow..tried shades on my conky and it like doubled the width of the font with my settings.

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

I've done some searching on this, but haven't had any luck, since most posts my searches return are about network stats and not what I am after.

Is it possible, has anyone managed or is there a hack to allow conky to show the stats for local AND remote PCs? I have a PC that is always on, I'd like to use it to show me the stats/health of a few other PCs on the network and to me conky would be a great way to do that. So, is it possible to use conky to pipe it's output from one PC to another instance of conky on another PC?

Mine is pretty simple, but I'm happy with it. It was inspired by this other desktop.

The wallpaper is Tree by Jack.

    This is my .conkyrc file.

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    Here is my contribution.

I modified the config generated by ConkyWizard (I like the background image).

It's from my laptop. I have three network interfaces: eth0, wlan0 and ppp0 (a 3G USB Modem). I adapted the config to show only the activated ones.

    Here is the config:
    Code:
    # Default Fonts
    use_xft yes
    xftfont Ubuntu:size=8
    override_utf8_locale yes

    # Performance Settings
    update_interval 1
    total_run_times 0
    double_buffer yes
    no_buffers yes
    net_avg_samples 2
    text_buffer_size 1024

    # Window Settings
    own_window yes
    own_window_transparent yes
    own_window_type override
    own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager

    # Window border
    draw_borders no
    draw_shades no

    # Default Color
    default_color E0DFDE

    # Color Title.
    color0 DD3A21

    # Size and position
    minimum_size 245 735
