    Talking Kickoff, anyone?

    Look what I've found here...

    Install by using

    Code:
    sudo dpkg -i kicker-kickoff_1_i386.deb
    and restart KDE.

If you don't mind the openSUSE icon and the crude (at least in my system) graphics, go on! Give it a go! It works!

EDIT: I've managed to get screenshots. Sorry for the greek . Enjoy.

Excellent work. It works flawlessly now.

One suggestion: do you think that the Kubuntu logo can be resized to match the panel's size automatically?

    Thank you!

What about Gnome users? Can we have our own version of Kickoff? I am not talking about the Slab, and USP (Ubuntu System Panel).

Don't think so, or you have to drop gnome-panel and use kicker instead (Kickoff is deeply integrated in kicker ATM).

I don't think the kubuntu logo is autosized, I'm only packaging not coding.. You can change the pictures if you like.

Ok, I installed this package but lost my panel in the process ?

    Any ideas ?

PS. I'm not running beryl, is this a requirement ?

    Have you restarted KDE?

Can you check if you're running kicker?

    Re: Kickoff, anyone?

Ok cannot start kicker, looks like a dependancy issue.

    Code:
    mips@obelix:~$ sudo kicker
kicker: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /usr/lib/libkdeinit_kicker.so)

    Re: Kickoff, anyone?

Yeah the new version is linked against the edgy Libc so doesn't work anymore in dapper.

You can do sudo aptitude reinstall kicker to go back I think

    (or just dist-upgrade to edgy)

PS Don't run kicker as root!
