cheapest/slowest way to send books from Ireland/UK/Great Britain to Canada

    Hello,
I am looking into receiving books from Ireland to me in Canada. The only thing I know so far is called
"Royal Mail". They charge about £10 for 2 kg boxes. That's surface delivery - up to 6 weeks.

The total I'm looking into receiving is more than 2 kg. Maybe more like 10 kg, or more, of books. I'm in no rush to receive the items, and would like the cheapest possible method of shipment.

    Do you guys know?

    Please advise.

Also, does Canada tax used books?

Even if I have to wait 6 months, it is okay with me.

    Dear Mips,
Thank you. We will look into interparcel.com and the ebay link you gave.

Stupid question, what books are these that they cannot be purchaced in Canada. The cost of shipping might just outstrip the value of the books.

    mips,
    thanks for the question.
The books can be aquired here in Canad. It's just that the books are used and therefore cheaper. I don't think the person who's selling them to me is going to be making profit from me. In a way, I think he's just doing me a favor.

This is why I'm looking to see if it's cheaper, after shipping is added in, whether to push through with this plan.

    there's also www.parcel2go.com

    11 - 25kg £61.99
    26 to 70kg £131.99.

    But is there nothing cheaper?
