OK, so when I do the second code in the guide-the rastageeks one- i put that into the terminal and it comes up with a 404 message. I went to the site and it doesn't exist anymore! What should I do!

The package gets updated all the time. Got to http://www.rastageeks.org/downloads/ov51x-jpeg/ to see what is the latest version.
    Currently it's: http://www.rastageeks.org/downloads/...g-1.5.9.tar.gz

Ok, I've compiled and installed v1.5.9 and everything went well, but the video coming from the camera is purple and green..

    Any ideas?

The results are in a foreign language (presumably Turkish), so I can't direct you to anywhere specific, but maybe you'll find a solution after looking around some.

Even if you find drivers for your webcam, Pidgin does not have video support. There are many other options, though, such as video conferencing applications like Skype, or even setting up a webcam server that people can connect to using their web browser.

Re: Howto Get Eyetoy Webcam working for Ubuntu

I'm pretty sure everything installed fine, but Ubuntu (I'm using 8.10 - Intrepid Ibex) doesn't see the Eye Toy or something. When I type dmesg I get

"[ 1076.260078] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3"

How would I get it to be recognized?
