Upgrade from 22.04 LTS to 24.04 LTS Failure indicating broken packages

Hi again and with a broken 22.04 upgrade failure
This is an AM3+ System that is dual booting Windows 10 Pro and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS on one hard drive!
After upgrade on a NORMALLY RUNNING 22.04 system and advised Firefox needed SNAPS or it would become inoperable and after 5 retries indicating it couldn't connect to download SNAPS I selected abort installation. Ubuntu was fully functioning and I rebooted to a white screen with a monitor picture and had a functioning Terminal during recovery mode but not anymore. How do I get my terminal back so I can attempt repair?
This was last week and I even tried to reinstall using 24.04 LTS USB but I am presented NO OPTION to reinstall without erasing the disk!! Okay my thought was this option has been eliminated and today I see this website:

    https://askubuntu.com/questions/1430...iting-home-opt

Look at the picture on this website including the INSTALLATION TYPE window with the RED ARROWS. I downloaded 22.04 LTS and I NOW DO NOT HAVE THIS OPTION! Where is this option? It is not presented booting to USB drive under Install now and it is not presented using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS in Live mode. WHERE IS IT?

NO I never made a backup because I have NEVER had a Ubuntu upgrade failure before so spare me the lectures about this because what is done is done and besides this during my attempts to repair/reinstall I see all the folders still intact but certain system files were indicated as broken and needed repairs. During recover mode on boot loader, for a while I had a fully functioning terminal and now that doesn't seem to present itself. How do I access a working terminal so if I can get proper commands I can hopefully get it to repair itself by downloading system files?

Another question is on my Smartphone I have complete pictures showing exactly what my previously working Terminal was indicating. Why am I not given the option to post pictures for a clearer description of what is going on? Pictures would certainly help, wouldn't they?? If I have this option, how do I post proper pictures?

Ubuntuforums is going to close down shortly, so you may be better off posting on Ubuntu Discourse. This page https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubunt...-welcome/49981 gives the details of what's involved in joining (if you haven't already).
BACKUPS are unsexy — until you discover you should have done one yesterday.
Spare your nerves and do one before you upgrade or install.

I attempted a reinstalling without selection of formating and despite the fact I didn't enable formating the drive I still lost everything and have a new bare installation. Like I asked before "where is the reinstallation or repair function as shown in that picture??"
I used to use Discord and quit because it's like a damn conveyor belt of information continuously flowing past and you blink and IT IS GONE! If this is the same scenario, I'm simply done and will move on to something else.

All the same people that help here are pretty much helping on Ubuntu Discourse we have spent a lot of time setting it up and will be spending a lot more to fine tune everything for while still but the site is working perfectly and it is discourse and it is nothing like discord, so please come and ask your question here:

You may be right. However, the Ubuntuforums are transitioning to Ubuntu Discourse, not Discord.

Repeat after me, 38 times, slowly:"Discourse, not Discord. Discourse, not Discord. Discourse, not Discord.....

I won't bother to post a link as on the top of every page of this forum there is a large banner written in blue with the Discourse links. Discourse, not Discord......

They would indeed. And you do have this option. Simply go to the advanced editor and you will find a paperclip icon where you can upload pictures to illuminate your post. And when and if you move over to Discourse, not Discord, you will find you can include pictures in your posts there too.

Take a deep breath.... Calm! On forums and social media all caps is seen as shouting. I'm sure this is true on Discourse, not Discord, as well as here.
