    Should we be certified to give help & support?

    Canonical have set up something called Canonical Credentials. This is what the web page says about Canonical Ubuntu Essentials:

    Reliable, relevant, and convenient certifications provide the steps to your professional growth. Develop and certify essential skills on Ubuntu, the world’s most popular Linux OS. You choose the pace.

    I might take this Quick Certification course. CUE.02 Desktop. I already know some of the answers.

    The CUE.01 Linux will be harder I admit. And the third one CUE.03 Server is out of my experience range.

    It is sometimes said: "You do not need to be crazy to work here, but it helps." Where I come from saying someone has been certified meant that they had been certified crazy.

    I am beyond the age where passing examinations will help my career. No career ever again. But as a self learning tool these credentials could be very useful even if I am only able to obtain book knowledge of a subject and not practical knowledge.

    Oh. Oh!

    I have just done further research and there is a cost to pay. $100.00 for each exam. It is for those seeking a career. So I suppose it is only natural that it is a properly conducted and verified examination.

    Still the study guides and documentation could be useful for self-study. The documents are ready available.

    @grahammechanical

    You caught my attention with your first post. It really sounded good, and maybe doable.

    At your second post, I thought to myself, "$100 is a lot of money!"

    Thanks for posting the way to the documents.
    Cheers,
