Document Scanner in 24.04.1 LTS Won't Scan from Flatbed

It used to scan from my HP OfficeJet 4650 flatbed by default in 20.04.1, but now gives me the error: "Failed to scan Document feeder empty". I tried selecting "MNultiple Pages from Flatbed" and it still gives me the same error. I am trying to scan a receipt, so I don't think i'd be able to feed it through the paper feeder, but I tried anyway and it does not feed.

Maybe the receipt is too small on the flatbed for the scanner to sense it. How about placing a blank letter-sized sheet of paper behind the receipt.
On my scanner software, aptly called Document Scanner, one can select either feeder or flatbed.
I have a Brother MFC-7360N (laser) for about ten years now with never an issue.

If you get no joy with Document Scanner, it may be worth trying naps2 instead. It's a scanner app and I think it's in the repos. It has more features than Document Scanner.

Edit: Corrected, it's not in the repos. See the following post.

Naps2 not in repositories; however it can be downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/naps2/
