I now have to click on Wired connection instead of it automatically connecting?

Hello. I have managed to get my VPN to run when I boot up or so I thought! I now have to click on the "Wired" on the top right for it to connect to the internet. However, if I click on Wired, my vpn also activates. It isn't a big deal but it would be nice for them to start when booting. I also have in Wired settings; "Connect automatically" ticked on as well as my VPN's connection. It is not wanting to connect when I boot. Idk why. I am at a loss.
