    Falcon Browser

So, I want to go away from using Firefox, and use Falcon browser, which comes with Kubuntu (ubuntu). However, I encountered two problems.

    1) The browser comes with an adblocker, but it doesn't seem to work. I played a Youtube video, and ads played on it.

I went to get a different adblocker from extensions but found that Falcon can't get any of the extension addons, even though its a Firefox clone. Is there another way to install better adblockers or other extensions onto Falcon browser?

    2) I want to use Startpage as my preferred search engine. So, I went into the settings and tried to change Duckduckgo to Startpage, as the default browser. The options are there to do it, but Falcon won't let the change happen. Duckduckgo is still the default search engine, even after I tried to change it in the settings. How can I fix that?

Or is there a better Firefox clone I can use instead of Falcon browser?

Ha I just finished this elsewhere (another forum)
Essentially, you need to do three things:

    • Goto AdBlock settings, and add all non-regional lists (EasyPrivacy, NoCoin List, Anti-Adblock Killer, Peter Lowe's List etc).
    • Go to Settings -> Extensions, and check the box for GreaseMonkey.
    • Go to https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/45...ube-ad-blocker, and click Install this script, then click install anyway. This is the Youtube Adblocker.

Now your Falkon should be able to block all the ads. Happy AD-blocking

    don't forget about seamonkey: https://linuxcapable.com/install-seamonkey-on-ubuntu/

Opps forgot Startpage, I would just bookmark this>>>https://www.startpage.com/

Falkon is not a Firefox clone.

I have Falkon 24.08.2 installed, and the settings to change search engine to Startpage seem to work for me everywhere except the falkon:start page. What version of Falkon are you using and how did you install it?

is there a better Firefox clone I can use
To clarify what you would consider "better":

Why are you looking to go away from using Firefox?
What are you seeking in a "Firefox clone"? What are you seeking in a web browser?

Yep, The browser has existed for many years (I've probably been using it for four years now). It was previously called QupZilla.
And StartPage was there for me as well, I wasn't using Ubuntu when I posted earlier
