Question Files Icon With Green Circle/number?

I recently installed Ubuntu 24.02 (stand alone) on a Dell PC. By the time I got everything sorted out, I noticed that the Files icon on the dash includes a green circle with the number 1 in it. Hovering over the green circle tells me nothing.

What does this green circle and number mean and how can I get rid of it?

If I unpin the icon from the dash, it appears in the Show Apps window without the green circle/number.

Have you moved a file around? The indicator is showing recent Files activity. You will see the same icon when Thunderbird has received a new email. The number will increase.

Click on the clock of top.
it should tell you what that is in the notification box.
It should also allow you to clear it.

In general when Files shows a number like that, it means you've started some action, maybe you're moving a file,
and the action has yet to be completed.

Thank you. Problem solved. I clicked on the top clock and there was a notification there telling me that a file operation had been completed. Once I deleted the notification, the green circle/number disappeared.

"Click on the clock of top."
Sorry but... What clock? I can't find any clock anywhere in the window when I open the Ubuntu Files. I have a small green circle which shows number 2. I can't find any way to remove it or any explanation to what this is anywhere.

Ok. I found it. Another answer explained what was the clock I should look for. Thanks--!

    The clock.
    Very top of the screen.
Typo, it should have said clock at the top, not clock of top, whatever that means.

This also assume using the Ubuntu Desktop.
